Research Interest

Synthetic Biology Parts for Yeast
  • Discover promoters, terminators, regulatory elements, secretion signals, and genome-editing components in multiple yeast hosts.
  • Assemble reusable biological parts for precise control of gene expression and pathway flux.
Microbial Production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel
  • Engineer microbial pathways that convert renewable carbon into fatty acid-, isoprenoid-, and alcohol-derived SAF precursors.
  • Optimize chain length, branching, reduction, and pathway flux to generate fuel-range molecules.
Korean Traditional Alcohol Analysis
  • Profile microbial communities, enzyme activities, and metabolite changes throughout nuruk-based fermentation.
  • Relate sugars, organic acids, alcohols, and aroma compounds to fermentation performance, flavor, and product consistency.
