Research Interest

Monooxygenase Mechanisms and Engineering
  • Investigate oxygen activation, substrate recognition, regioselectivity, and cofactor use in monooxygenase catalysis.
  • Engineer catalytic efficiency and selectivity for precise oxyfunctionalization reactions.
Plastic-Degrading Enzymes
  • Identify oxidative enzymes that activate resistant carbon backbones and improve access to oxidized polypropylene chains.
  • Engineer enzyme activity and stability for PP depolymerization and downstream biological conversion.
High-Value Products from C1 Compounds
  • Construct enzyme cascades and microbial pathways that convert C1 intermediates into high-value chemicals.
  • Coordinate carbon flux, redox balance, and toxicity management across methanol-, formaldehyde-, and formate-utilizing routes.
